Indoor Mobile Robot

The indoor mobile robot was designed at Cornell University by a team led by Dr. Subhas Desa. The goal of the project was to design a mobile robot capable of navigating inside a building.

The robot was designed and developed from concept all the way to working prototype (shown) and has two modes of locomotion: it uses wheels to navigate rapidly on level spaces; it uses tracks to climb stairs. The robot can be used to perform a variety of tasks indoors, for example, cleaning floors, and delivering objects from one location to another.
