SC0031 - Marketing Coordinator

SC Solutions, Inc. has an immediate need for a Marketing Coordinator for our Sunnyvale, CA office. This position supports all marketing/business development efforts for the Structural Division, with a primary focus on proposal production. This is a great opportunity for an individual looking for a supportive team environment who can balance creativity with detailed tactical execution.

Job Summary:

The Marketing Coordinator will assist the sales team in the creation and production of proposals and marketing materials (project brochures, resumes, firm experience, etc.) that support our business development activities, as well as play an active role in developing, maintaining and improving the organization and maintenance of those materials. Candidates for the Coordinator position will need strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proven writing, editing, proofreading, and graphical design/presentation abilities are also essential. The ideal candidate is energetic and creative, can work collaboratively and solve problems independently, is highly organized and detail-oriented and can be flexible with good time management skills.

Roles/Responsibilities:

Work directly with the sales team and Project Managers to write, edit, proofread, and produce proposals, brochures, articles, web copy and other original content.
Maintain and update standard marketing materials (resumes, brochures, standard proposal sections, etc.).
Respond to Request for Qualifications (RFQs) and Request for Proposals (RFPs) as well as be the point-of-contact for all RFQ and RFP submittal packages.
Develop, improve and maintain marketing information systems, records, client and project databases.
Maintain and update website content.
Demonstrate self-initiative, positive team attitude and strong attention to detail and quality.
Successfully juggle multiple, competing, and deadline-driven tasks.
Assist with client and market research projects.

Skills/Requirements:

2-4 years of experience in a deadline-driven environment; preferably for an architecture, engineering or construction firm.
BA in marketing, communications, journalism, English or similar.
Expert user of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, etc.).
Strong writing, editing, proofreading and graphic design/presentation abilities.
Ability to lead the production and development of proposal submittal packages.
Willingness to assume responsibility and provide input on how to improve processes.
Excellent command of written and spoken English. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with different levels of staff and directly with clients.
Coordinate SC Solutions’ participation in targeted trade events (including conference attendance and speaking opportunities).

Preferred Skills:

Proficient user of Adobe Suite products.
Experience with Corel Suite products.
Experience with proposal and event management/coordination.
Website design.

SC0029 - Structural Engineer / Analyst

We are currently accepting applications for a structural engineer/analyst for employment in our Sunnyvale and Walnut Creek offices. As a part of the structural engineering team at SC Solutions, the candidate will assist project engineers with the design of a large variety of complex structural systems such as bridges, tunnels, railways, and other industrial facilities. The primary duties will include performing structural engineering design and analysis under the direct supervision of a project or lead engineer. The analysis techniques used may include both linear and nonlinear finite element analysis. A strong mechanics background and understanding of structural design and analysis as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. The candidate may occasionally be required to lead other engineers and/or technicians. Experience with PC based software (word processing, spreadsheet, and graphics applications) as well as UNIX/LINUX experience is a plus. Knowledge of design codes, CAD applications and programming languages such as C/C++, Visual Basic, or FORTRAN is also a plus. An MS or Ph.D. in Civil/Structural Engineering (CE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME) is required. One to three years of engineering experience is preferable.

SC0028 - Senior Structural Engineers / Senior Engineers

We are currently accepting applications for senior structural engineers for employment at our Sunnyvale and Walnut Creek offices. As a part of the structural engineering team at SC Solutions, the candidate will plan and conduct the project development activities for a large variety of transportation systems and structures. The primary duties will be to exercise independent judgment in the evaluation, selection, execution and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and design criteria. A successful candidate for this position will possess a strong structural mechanics background, the ability to perform both linear and nonlinear finite element analysis, and knowledge of earthquake/seismic engineering and the behavior of concrete and steel structures. An MS (or the foreign equivalent) and 2 years experience, or a Ph.D. in Civil/Structural Engineering (CE) or Mechanical Engineering (ME) is required. A professional engineering license is preferred. Knowledge of CAD applications and programming languages such as C/C++, Visual Basic, or FORTRAN is a plus. UNIX/LINUX experience is also a plus.

SC0027 - Geotechnical Engineer / Analyst

We are currently accepting applications for a geotechnical engineer with a minor in structural engineering for employment in our Walnut Creek office. The candidate should be knowledgeable in geotechnical, foundation and earthquake engineering including geotechnical and structural material properties, interpretation of geotechnical data, shallow and deep foundation analyses, slope stability and ground deformation analyses, liquefaction and lateral spreading, nonlinear soil properties and foundation stiffness, lateral pile analyses using P-Y input. The candidate is expected to perform numerical modeling and analyses of soil structure systems using computer programs, such as, FLAC and PLAXIS. Candidate should be knowledgeable in performing site response and earthquake time history analyses of soil-structure systems. Good communication and written skills are a plus. The candidate should have a MS or Ph.D. in geotechnical engineering.
