world. SC Solutions has a long history of involvement in the design and analysis
of nuclear power plant facilities. Specifically, our expertise extends to the
evaluation of power plant structures and their components by utilizing advanced
numerical methods. These methods include:

SC Solutions has developed unique expertise in evaluating the seismic response of structures by establishing a seamless interface between the soil-structure interaction (using SASSI) and structural models of an overall system analysis. This two way interface allows our engineers to analyze dynamic, SSI response of detailed, design-level, structural models. These models allow foundation nonlinearities (such as base sliding and/or uplift) and structural nonlinearities (such as concrete cracking, isolation systems, etc.) be properly considered in the analysis.
SC Solutions has unique capabilities in analyzing 3D seismic SSI response of nuclear facilities that are underlain by sloping rock condition. Such analysis is currently not feasible using conventional SSI programs. SC Solutions also has capabilities for analyzing large and deeply embedded nuclear facilities including nuclear islands with detailed structural models.
