SC Solutions offers modeling and
simulation, data analysis, signal processing and control services for the
medical devices and instrumentation industry. Our experience includes:
- SC Solutions has developed models and controllers for RF heating of human tissues for cancer treatment. This project involved development of real-time software that could provide distributed feedback temperature control of tissues heated with switched RF power using multiple needles applied in various configurations.
- SC Solutions has designed and implemented controllers for flexible surgical robots. These robots use the human body's natural orifices to conduct surgical procedures that minimize complications and recovery time. Our model-based, real-time feedback control software and the associated GUI enabled fast and accurate control of these robots. Both the endpoint as well as the dynamic shape of the flexible robot is controlled to enable the targeted surgical procedures.
- SC Solutions conducted predictive analysis and concept evaluation of an arterial stent concept. An advanced analytical procedure focused on comparative performance of various materials and geometry to achieve the most efficient stent configuration. Additionally, an estimate of safe levels of stent expansion into plastic range was conducted to provide guidance to medical professionals during application of this complex device.
