The use of custom embedded feedback control is increasingly more critical in the development of high performance controllers. The controls for critical subsystems are performed by dedicated subsystem controllers. Rather than bringing back information from several sensors to a central control computer, critical computations and control decisions are made by dedicated microprocessor-based digital controllers.

SC Solutions delivers embedded controllers for a wide range of applications, typically beginning with physics-based modeling of the process, system identification and model validation, and control design, to hardware selection, controller implementation and testing.

Application Development: SC Solutions has developed the SC-x™ Real Time Controller Software Framework that allows rapid implementation of embedded controllers. We also develop custom extensions, such as interfaces to other systems, user interfaces, and data management components.

Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) support: SC Solutions provides RTOS software development support including development of interfaces for hardware and protocols unsupported by the RTOS. We have experience with many different operating systems, including Wind River VxWorks™, Mentor Graphics VRTX™, RT-Linux, and (soft real-time) Microsoft Windows.

Hardware selection and integration: SC Solutions has extensive experience with both embedded systems and rapid prototyping systems. The former is generally better suited for production, while the latter is ideal for an R&D environment. We select and integrate the most suitable hardware as part of our embedded controller development, or can help you build your embedded system.
