Rectangular LNG Storage Facility Design

Concept Development

SC Solutions was part of a conceptual design development team for a rectangular LNG storage tank for ExxonMobil Corporation. During this project several innovative concepts were evaluated and priced.  Throughout this project extensive analytical effort was undertaken, and the effects of the service and extreme loads were studied for various design options. SC Solutions was responsible for evaluation of the following:

• Inner tank service load design and optimization
• Concrete containment accident spill evaluation
• Inner and outer tank seismic evaluation
• Sloshing analysis

As a result of this collaboration, ExxonMobil and SC Solutions have patented this design. This innovative concept is currently under consideration for several major projects around the world.
