History

SC Solutions has been providing innovative engineering solutions to its clients for over 30 years. The company was founded in Palo Alto, California in 1987 under the name SuperComputer Solutions, specializing in solutions for the high-speed computing needs of mechanical and aerospace engineering clients.  Two years later, in 1989, the company incorporated under the name SC Solutions, Inc.

After the 1989 and 1993 earthquakes in California, the company pioneered the application of high-speed computer software and modeling techniques to structural engineering.  Shortly thereafter, SC Solutions added advanced control engineering for the aerospace and semiconductor industries, pioneering the use of model-based control, that was well established in the aerospace industry, for the semiconductor manufacturing industry.

The company headquarters are in Sunnyvale, California, with additional offices across the United States.

Structural Engineering

SC Solutions has specialized in high-end numerical analysis and conceptual design of complex structural systems for over 30 years. From its roots supporting engineering analysis for the energy and aerospace industries, SC Solutions expanded to provide support for seismic and earthquake engineering analysis, construction staging, and design solutions.  Over time, SC Solutions has developed a unique structural analysis methodology based on a combination of performance-based design procedures coupled with nonlinear time history analysis and soil structure interaction.  We have continued to expand applications for our solutions and, today, we provide engineering solutions for port and marine, oil and gas, water, and nuclear industries, as well as transportation infrastructure. Control Engineering

SC Solutions has extensive experience in control design, modeling of physical systems, real-time software development, optimization, system identification, fault diagnostics, and signal processing. We develop products and provide consulting and R&D solutions for semiconductor and advanced materials manufacturing, energy, infrastructure, aerospace, and defense industries. Examples of applications include modeling and control of thermal processing, various techniques for thin film deposition, wafer planarization, sensor signal processing, and simulation of satellite operation.

Our process control software is used in key stages in the manufacturing of practically every modern microprocessor such as computer CPU’s and mobile phone chips. Without the use of our optimal control software, the requisite manufacturing tolerances would not be achievable. Some of these controllers have been in use for more than two decades. Over the years, our wide range of cross-disciplinary interests and our expertise with relevant tools have proven to be a great advantage in enhancing our problem-solving efficiency.

Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

SC Solutions brings together decades of experience working with spacecraft, structural design and analysis, launch vehicles, loads and coupled loads analysis, payload architecture, antenna engineering, test design and analysis, qualification and testing,  and ground support equipment.  We have provided engineering to a wide variety of projects including space launch vehicles, spacecraft, satellites, aircraft, quad-copters, and ground support equipment, as well as payload architecture and antenna engineering projects.
