Payman Tehrani, Ph.D., P.E.

Dr. Tehrani has a proven track record of leadership in large-scale high-visibility engineering projects where he has proactively assessed complex technical challenges and developed value-added analysis programs which effectively reduced design and construction cost, schedule, and risk. His innovative analysis concepts have been well-received by diverse stakeholders interested in safety, reliability, and economic viability of critical infrastructure. He manages projects in nuclear, transportation, oil & gas, and water industries and has extensive experience in the assessment of geotechnical and structural systems under seismic, blast, impact, and construction sequencing demands. This includes developing effective strategies for soil-structure interaction (SSI), fluid-structure interaction (FSI), and structure-soil-structure interaction (SSSI) analyses, as well as assessment of the highway and railroad barriers under impact loading from vehicular traffic and railcars and the response of structural components and systems to blast loads.

Dr. Tehrani joined SC Solutions in 2013. Previously, Dr. Tehrani was an Analyst for Advanced Technology and Research Group, Arup in San Francisco and a Lecturer at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Tehrani holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering-Structural Engineering and Mechanics from the University of California, Los Angeles, an M.S. in Civil Engineering-Structural Engineering and Mechanics, as well as an M.S. in Civil Engineering-Construction Management. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in California.
